This is the home within our site for everything we can think of health-related, be that physical, mental, or as yet unspecified!
Health is such an important part of life because it’s preventative. Modern medicine is very impressive, but there’s also so much we don’t know… When we were at school, we weren’t taught about things like our microbiome… There’s still so much we don’t know about our own bodies and how inputs and environment affect them! Emily errs on the side of conspiracy theorist, whereas Francis has more confidence.
We will share our experiences up to a point, but please be mindful of how personal these subjects are, even when shared in general terms.
In terms of our health, we normally split thinking into these categories (even though they’re incredibly interlinked):
Physical: how we’re staying fit and healthy. We’re totally out of our comfort zone and out of a routine currently. This is something that doesn’t come easily in the midst of other commitments. It’s also important to understand where we’re starting from so you don’t waste your time implementing something that is irrelevant to you!
Mental: the previous elephant in the room. It’s a weird one to discuss, because whatever you feel is totally valid within certain parameters. A period of upheaval is also very damaging to mental health, especially as our ‘normal’ consists of a wide network of local family members. Here, we’ll deal with isolation, routine, loss, rejection… All sorts of fun stuff. But it’s so important to discuss!!!
